Oktoberfest in Dubai - By The Tasting Class

The Tasting Class holds grape and hops events in hotels, restaurants and people’s homes throughout the UAE, while also providing service and beverage training and consultancy for the hospitality industry. The Tasting class is led by Lindsay Trivers, a wine professional whose beverage and hospitality service experience spans five continents. She holds qualifications with The Wine & Spirit Education Trust, The Court of Master Sommeliers, Auckland University of Technology, and also studied in Belgium under Master Beer Sommelier, Sofie Vanraflegehm. You may recognize Lindsay from previous CitiSpi events where she has taught us a thing or two about hops and grapes!

Oktoberfest is back; more popular than ever and it’s not hard to work out why. The climate in Dubai in October may not have much in common with autumn in Bavaria, but aside from that you can have the full experience: traditional folk bands flown in direct from Germany; classic meaty cuisine and steins as big as your face overflowing with gorgeous German pilsners and a variety of craft beers. What’s not to like? Plus, wearing lederhosen will not only guarantee your good time, but it’ll often get you through the door for free.

The hops experts at The Tasting Class have compiled a shortlist of the finest Oktoberfest experiences on offer.
