Your Eid Weekend in Dubai

-   By Guest Blogger Lil One Of The Ashes

Liloneoftheashes is based in Dubai, and writes about the many ways to enjoy the luxuries that the UAE has to offer without breaking your wallet. Originally from Malaysia and having spent the latter part of life in New Zealand, she enjoys the occasional ladies’ night and plans a lot of the events within her social circle - from brunches, dinners and nights out to afternoon teas and getaways within the region and afar.

In line with CitiSpi's theme, the blog focuses mainly on just that - that living here in the UAE does not have to be expensive, you can go out and socialise and have a great time, on a budget.

With Eid coming up, families start leaving for home for the summer, some jet off to somewhere cooler for a short break, and there's us - who opt to stay on in Dubai. It is pretty hot outside but c'mon, it's not that bad to stay here. There's always lots of deals for staycations in the various hotels, and family-friendly activities as well. Not too sure what we'll be up to just yet, but hey, here's a few suggestions if you're looking for something to do:

Vida Downtown Dubai and Manzil Downtown Dubai -  From 15% to 25% discount - See Citispi App for more details. Located in Downtown Dubai opposite the Dubai Mall, both hotels are a great spot for a city getaway especially if you want some retail therapy (and don't want to get upset looking for car parking in the mall!) We spent the weekend at Vida Hotel last May - It's a chic hotel, they do a great picnic brunch by their pool as well. Click here for my review of Vida Hotel when we stayed there. 04 428 6888

St Regis Dubai With up to 20% off best available rooms rate, as well as 20% dining credit per night at all venues. Offers starting from AED 1050++ per room, per night. We've never stayed here but have tried their afternoon tea at the beautiful Sidra Lounge - make sure you put on a pretty frock! Click here for my review of Sidra Afternoon Tea.  04 435 5555

Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach Residence - With up to 30% off when booking 3 days in advance, with rates starting at AED 399++ per night. Located in JBR, it's great if you want easy access to The Beach especially if you don't live in this area (and never ventured out this side of town because of the traffic!). 04 428 2000

Atlantis The Palm - This is one resort you have to stay at least once if you live in Dubai! There's a Family Getaway Offer of up to 10% off any Deluxe Room or Imperial Room, including breakfast at Saffron or Kaleidoscope and unlimited access to Aquaventure and The Lost Chambers Aquarium. Wait, there's more - it also includes an incredible Cownose Ray Feeding experience for two adults and two children that will leave the whole family speechless! There's a catch though - you have to stay for a minimum of two nights. C'mon with so many activities, you have to stay at least two nights.  Unfortunately, we've never stayed here either but it's on to 'to-do' list. Click here for my review of Aquaventure Waterpark. 04 426 2000

Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Grosvenor House hotel - There's lots of deals at both hotels for Eid, but the one that caught my eye would be booking a night and receive a AED300 dining credit redeemable in the many restaurants in the hotels. I've spent the weekend in Le Royal Meridien few years back and with the many pools and activities available, you'll never be bored, or have to leave! I recommend it for families with children as well. Click here for my review of the resort. Of all the many restaurants that we've dined in Grosvenor House, I recommend trying out their Hola Hola brunch at Toro Toro (click here for my review on it) and their afternoon tea at Rhodes W1 (click here for my review on it). 04 399 5555 (LRM) 04 399 8888 (GH)

Burj Al Arab - If you want to splurge a little more, there's a deal going on for UAE Residents and Nationals at the Burj with rooms starting at AED 3,300 ++. Considering the usual rate during peak seasons of up twice this price, this is actually a deal! You get to stay in a duplex suite, no extra charges for children under 11, and includes complimentary buffet breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres and beverages. There are a lot of other perks included. Do contact the Burj Al Arab Reservations team for more information. I might just hint to the other half to take us there. One day.... 04 301 7777

Media One Hotel - If you're looking to just getting out of own place and staying in a nice simple hotel in Dubai, there's Media One Hotel where you can book a room at their special 'stay for free' rate of AED500++ and they will give you back the same price to use in their F&B outlets. This is one of the first hotels that we stayed in before we officially moved to Dubai, and have been back numerous times since - their breakfast at The Med is fab! 04 4271000

Rixos The Palm - Located at the east end of crescent in The Palm, Rixos has an Eid deal starting from AED2225++ for two people, for a minimum of two-night stay. You get to stay in a junior suite, complimentary for two children under the age of 15. In addition to pool and beach cabana access, you also get complimentary Eid Brunch at A La Turca for two people on the first day of Eid, plus two discount vouchers for massage in Anjana Spa, worth AED 100 per voucher amongst other perks. Click here for my review of breakfast at A La Turca. 04 457 5555

Madinat JumeirahWith 15% off their best available rate for UAE Residents, you'll get to stay in any of their three properties - Mina A Salam, Al Qasr of Dar Al Masyaf with complimentary breakfast in Hanaaya, Arboretum or Khaymat al Bahar. You also get complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark, Sinbad's Kids Club and Talise Fitness.  A few months ago we spent a night in one of the villas in Dar Al Masyaf for our babymoon. Though we've been on the abras so many times, it still feels magical travelling through the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah. Click here for my review of our stay. 04 364 7555
