Bars and restaurants in Dubai Media City:

The best spots for drinks before/after Dubai Jazz Festival or Taste of Dubai

This weekend, the Dubai Jazz Festival is back at one of our favourite venues – Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. Then two weeks later it’ll play host to Taste of Dubai. These big upcoming events got us thinking about how where you could go for pre/post festival drinks/food that are in walking distance of the Amphitheatre to be visited before or after the event and therefore help to avoid any hassles with traffic, parking and taxis.

Media One Hotel

The Media One Hotel is the first obvious choice, being directly opposite the venue, and with so many great outlets to choose from. You could grab some food at The Med, have a casual drink and nibbles at Café M, or get into the spirit at the Z:One, alternatively while the weather’s so good, you could head up to the eighth floor and enjoy The Dek on Eight or The Garden on 8. Check out all the options here:

Radisson Blu Hotel

Directly opposite the entrance gate of the Ampitheatre, this is another obvious choice. ICON offers extended hours and alternate happy hours with plenty of big screens for sports. Dusk Terrace is a beautiful poolside rooftop bar for chilled drinks, while Tamanya Terrace offers a bit more of an outdoor dance party, with a great viewpoint and live DJ’s. Check them all out here:

The Westin Dubai

A little further to walk, but still a great option for festival goers who are looking for a nice meal before the Jazz Festival, The Westin has some great resturants, including long term favourite Italian restaurant Bussola, new tapas restaurant El Sur, comteporary grill Hunters, and Thai restaurant Spice Emporium. For something a bit special, try China Grill for Asian inspired world cuisine, and if it’s more liquid refreshment you’re after, you can’t go wrong with Oeno wine bar. There’s more information about them all here:

Meridien Mina Seyahi Hotel

Right next door to sister hotel The Westin, the Meridien Mina Seyahi also has plenty to offer in its own right. Most notably, the infamous Barasti Beach Bar, which depending on the night you visit, and whereabouts in the bar you go, could be anything from a nice casual beachside dinner, to a few drinks watching the sports, or a full on party on the sand! There’s something for everyone!!

Wherever you do choose to go, we hope you enjoy the weekend, the music and the whole atmosphere around the event – and if you have any other suggestions for pre or post-event venues, let us know!
