Liloneoftheashes is based in Dubai, and writes about the many ways to enjoy the luxuries that the UAE has to offer without breaking your wallet. Originally from Malaysia and having spent the latter part of life in New Zealand, she enjoys the occasional ladies’ night and plans a lot of the events within her social circle - from brunches, dinners and nights out to afternoon teas and getaways within the region and afar.
In line with CitiSpi's theme, the blog liloneoftheashes.com focuses mainly on just that - that living here in the UAE does not have to be expensive, you can go out and socialise and have a great time, on a budget.
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we have scouted out the top ladies’ nights here in Dubai. A few of these are long-time favourites of mine, which I have frequented with friends on and off since we have been here. Some are on my to-do list which seems to be getting longer and longer as more bars open up here in Dubai! Let us know if you've been there and what you think of it.
Toshi, Grand Millennium Hotel Dubai - On my to-do list, Toshi is located in Grand Millennium Hotel in Al Barsha, a hotel close to heart as this was our first home for over a few months when we moved over to Dubai. They do a great dinner buffet, and with the newly launched ladies nights on Wednesdays, you get three complimentary selected cocktails from 8pm-1am with a 20% discount when dining in for their Chinese theme night buffet. The CitiSpi team recently popped down (or should we say up, as this stunning restaurant is perched on the 18th floor) to Toshi to test this ladies’ night. The ladies all had an absolute blast, sampling delicious sushi and elegant cocktails, including the lychee martini – which was a big hit all around the table!
Vault, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai - Appropriately called 'Ladies Nights with a View', put on your best dress and heels, round up the girls or take your girlfriends who are in town on a Tuesdays to the top of the JW Marriott Marquis in Business Bay. The views of the Burj and Downtown Dubai from the bar is amazing, plus you'll get three complimentary drinks. Have a peek here of how it went, when I went there with friends.
Tesoro, Taj Dubai - One of my favourites this year, the ladies’ nights at Tesoro in Taj Dubai is one to go with friends who would prefer a proper get-together. This means a sit-down dinner where you get to pay only half the price of everything off the ala-carte menu (I recommend the rock shrimp with spicy mayo, and truffle cream linguini with wild mushrooms) plus, unlimited espresso martinis! This happens every Tuesdays between 7-11pm. Click here for my review.
Shades, The Address Dubai Marina - This bar boasts one of the best views of the Dubai Marina, credits to its gorgeous infinity pool. Falling on a Wednesday between 7-10pm, I've been to Shades for their ladies’ nights only twice but if there were a guest in town and we don't want to venture too far from the marina, I would take them there. Two complimentary drinks, with two more should you order food from their ala carte menu. Click here for my review.
360 Degrees, Jumeirah Beach Hotel - A ladies’ night that you will take a million selfies at due to its location overlooking the Burj Al Arab, the Diva Night starts at 8pm-12am, with four complimentary drinks. If you're up to it, start your night early at Mahiki, which was what we did the last time we went there!
I could go on and on when it comes to ladies’ nights in Dubai. There are so many new ones popping up all over town, keep an eye out for details on the Citispi app here, or for more reviews on my blog!
